The Cascadia Files is a cosmic horror video series that takes place in a fictionalized version of the Pacific Northwest. Billions of years ago, the planet Theia collided with an early Earth to form the Moon. However, Theia wasn’t a planet like we initially believed; it’s an ancient being. A part of Theia’s body formed the moon, and the rest was buried deep in the Earth’s core. After billions of years of hibernation, Theia is awakened through humanity’s continued mistreatment of their planet. Their revival is heralded through increased volcanic activity at the Ring of Fire. This activity culminates in what is known as the Cascadia Subduction Zone Event, where a fragment of Theia broke through the crust of a volcano located in the Pacific Northwest. Shortly after the event, government reports were made public that documented Theia’s activity over the past few decades. These reports, now known as The Cascadia Files, are the general public’s introduction to the cosmic beings living beneath their feet.
